Cheryl Brown has been passionate about jewelry design for the past 20 years and her pieces can be described as upcycled industrial wearable art. Blending antique typewriter keys, watch movements, buttons, opticians’ lenses, light bulbs, skeleton keys, grandfather clock hands, MahJong bones, and triggers with industrial washers, gears, nuts and screws creates simple yet eye-catching pieces that highlight the beauty of antique workmanship and the simplicity of modern hardware. Materials are sourced from antique dealers, thrift, and hardware stores and every necklace, bracelet, earring and ring is unique and hand made in Oakland.
Cheryl’s work will be featured at the Rare Bird on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Click here for more information on the Rare Bird April event.
